Carl Kemp Receives Endorsement From Former Councilmember Rae Gabelich

Carl Kemp is running for the Long Beach City Council seat in the 5th District.

Former Long Beach City Councilmember Rae Gabelich announced her endorsement of Carl Kemp for City Council for the 5th District. Gabelich represented Long Beach’s 8th Council District for two terms.

“I trust Carl Kemp to be the next champion for the neighborhoods the 5th District expects and deserves. As a 20-year resident of Long Beach, Carl has the experience and commitment to fight for more public safety resources and invest in our streets and sidewalks,” said Gabelich

“I’m honored to receive the support of former Councilwoman Rae Gabelich,” Kemp responded. “During her eight years of service to this city, she was a passionate voice for neighborhoods and was committed to protecting public safety resources. I plan to create a similar legacy as the 5th Council District representative.”

Former City Councilwoman Rae Gabelich joins a broad base of city and community leaders supporting Carl Kemp for City Council.

Carl Kemp is a longtime Long Beach resident, public servant, and advocate for our community. He owns his own public affairs business. Carl formerly served as Director of Community Relations and Government Affairs for the Port of Long Beach and as Manager of Communications and Government Administration for the City of Long Beach. He earned his BA and MPA from Long Beach State, where he served two terms as Student Body President. Carl, his wife, Claudia Gutierrez, and their two daughters, live in El Dorado Park Estates.
