KLOS Animal Adoption Day in Long Beach with Mark and Brian
2010-03-25 · By Editor
Radio personalities Mark and Brian will be in Long Beach to promote animal adoption on May 8. This one-of-a-kind event is sponsored by KLOS radio station and the spcaLA to provide Long Beach families with the opportunity to adopt healthy pets into loving homes. Thousands will attend; hundreds will be adopted.
“Over 11,000 animals are impounded at the Long Beach shelter each year,” said Ronald Arias, Health and Human Services Department Director. “If you can provide a loving home for a pet, we encourage you to adopt from your local shelter.”
Mark and Brian will broadcast live on 95.5FM from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the animal adoption event. There will also be a variety of activities geared towards local animal-lovers including a silent auction. New or long-time pet-owners will have the opportunity to “Ask the Trainer” and “Ask the Vet” with specialists onsite to answer queries about pet care.
As an added benefit, a one-time late fee amnesty for past due licensing renewals will be available for all onsite registrations. This is a chance to catch up on late pet registration as well as receive vouchers from Animal Care Services and the Friends of Long Beach Animals for free spaying and neutering (for use at participating veterinarians).
KLOS Animal Adoption Day takes place at the spcaLA P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village, on Saturday, May 8, beginning at 10:00 a.m. No appointment is necessary. Animal Village is located at 7700 East Spring Street, Long Beach, CA 90815.
