Long Beach 7th Street
Beginning November 22 at 7:00 am, 6th and 7th Streets will allow two-way traffic in the area between Alamitos and Atlantic Avenues, as the City of Long Beach reaches a milestone in the process to improve a dangerous intersection and build a new park in Downtown Long Beach.
Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal invites residents and businesses along 4th Street and 7th Street to attend the 3rd and final visioning workshop planned for each corridor on Saturday, September 20th. Stakeholders will hear recommendations from urban design architects RSAUD/UTILE based on their feedback from two prior workshops.
On Saturday, August 9, 2014, the Long Beach Police Department’s Traffic Section conducted a Driving Under the Influence/Driver License Checkpoint on 7th Street and Federation Drive, from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m. During the eight-hour operation, which was aided by Long Beach Police Explorers, Long Beach Search and Rescue and officers from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, 2,790 vehicles passed through the checkpoint with 542 drivers being screened, resulting in the following statistics:
On July 2, representatives from St. Anthony High School’s Class of 1964 formally presented a check to high school President Gina Maguire to underwrite the renovation of the school’s historic Arbor in the Courtyard.
The red bougainvillea-shrouded Arbor bordering the school on 7th Street and Olive Avenue in Long Beach was built over 60 years ago to provide seating and shade for students.

It’s time for the 10th-annual Operation Easter Basket. The goal is to collect and distribute 1,600 baskets this season to economically-disadvantaged boys and girls – from birth to age 16. The headquarters for this 2-day operation is at Bay Shore Church, 5100 E.
On Monday, March 24, 2014, around 7:50 p.m., Long Beach Police were dispatched to the area of 7th Street and Cerritos Avenue regarding an unknown trouble call, possibly involving an assault with a deadly weapon. Arriving officers determined a robbery to a business in the 1100 block of E.
Volunteers are needed for a Community Clean Up hosted by Councilmember Suja Lowenthal on Saturday, March 22 from 9:00am to 12:00pm along the East Seventh Street corridor. Activities will include mulching 125 newly planted trees, litter pick up, chalk stenciling with youth at transit stops, small business meet & greet teams and Go Long Beach reporting crews.
