Long Beach auto burglary
Long Beach Police Robbery and Career Criminal Apprehension Team (CCAT) detectives arrested a suspect for his role in multiple West Division auto burglaries.
Between July 9 through July 19, 2014, multiple auto burglaries were reported in an apartment parking structure in the 400 block of West Broadway.
So far police have been unable to ascertain the technology thieves are using to break into cars.
The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects wanted in connection with a series of auto burglaries, where unknown technology was used to gain keyless entry into several vehicles.
On December 15, 2012, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched to the 7800 block of Berner Street in response to suspicious activity around parked vehicles. Thanks to a call from an alert resident and good police work, an arrest was made.
On Wednesday, Novermber 16, 2011, at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department were dispatched to the area of 2nd Street and Glendora Avenue in response to a call reporting suspicious activity around parked vehicles.
With the holiday shopping season quickly approaching, there will be more opportunities for thieves to do their own window-shopping as they peruse the windows of parked cars for valuables to steal. Residents are reminded to take precautions to reduce the chance of becoming a victim of auto burglary.
