Long Beach Belmont Pool
Mayor Robert Garcia, Councilmember Suzie Price, the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Marine, and the Tidelands Capital Improvement Division invite the public to the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool “Closing Ceremony” on Sunday, Oct.
The public is invited to attend a meeting to discuss the upcoming rebuild of the Belmont Pool Facilities. Please plan to attend this important meeting to hear and comment on the most current information regarding the conceptual design of the project, including the results of the recent Stakeholder Advisory Committee process and next steps for the project.
The beautiful new Belmont Plaza Temporary Pool will start swim lessons beginning March 1 for all ages and skill levels. The 50 – meter heated pool has shallow water for lessons, a lift and two sets of stairs with double rails for disabled access and bleacher seating.

The City of Long Beach announced Monday that the Belmont Pool must be permanently shuttered to ensure the safety of the community.
On January 10, 2013 the Belmont Pool was temporarily closed due to a draft Structural and Seismic Evaluation that indicated the facility was seismically unsafe in the event of a moderate earthquake.
