If a picture can be worth a thousand words, then a real-life encounter can be a priceless novel. That’s the hope for the organizers of the Human Library event to be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Long Beach Main Public Library.
The California Milk Processor Board (CMPB) creators of Got Milk? honored Ability First Long Beach Center for their outstanding contributions and dedicated service to his community and California. AbilityFirst’s Long Beach Center offers programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and epilepsy.
On September 7th from 11am to 4pm, Zen Baby Shop will present the Natural and Holistic Baby Expo at the Bungalow Arts Building located on 727 Pine ave. in downtown Long Beach. The Natural and Holistic Baby Expo will bring together families and expectant parents with Natural and Holistic practitioners, products and information.

St. Mary Medical Center has received a $425,000 grant to implement First 5 LA’s successful Welcome Baby Program in Long Beach.
Welcome Baby offers personalized prenatal, post-partum and hospital visits with a professionally trained “Parent Coach” from pregnancy through the first 9 months for families living within First 5 LA’s Best Start Communities.

Lactation Consultants from the MemorialCare Center for Women at Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach and Long Beach Memorial were awarded the IBCLC Care award from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) and the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA).
