Curtis Tani, Director of the City of Long Beach Department of Technology Services, has announced his plans to retire, effective September 12, 2014.
“Curtis has served our city admirably by modernizing and expanding our use of technology, improving customer service, enhancing employee productivity and reducing costs,” City Manager Patrick H.
The Democratic Women’s Study Club of Long Beach will be hosting their 82nd Annual Great American Picnic on Saturday, August 9 at noon at Wardlow Park located at 3457 Stanbridge Avenue in Long Beach. Each year, this event attracts a large number of elected officials and guests from Long Beach and surrounding cities.
With the resignation of former Trustee Roberto Uranga, the Long Beach Community College District Board of Trustees voted 3-1 (Trustee Sunny Zia dissenting) during their meeting last night to fill the vacancy with a provisional appointment.

Today, the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) announced their endorsement of Rex Richardson for the 9th District City Council seat. The LALCV is the only environmental Political Action Committee in Los Angeles.
