Grand Prix excitement will race into Downtown Long Beach on Thursday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. for the 14th Annual Thunder Thursday. Produced by the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA), this free event will offer an action-packed kickoff to Grand Prix weekend that is fun for the whole family.
Racing legends Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen headline the “Legends of Lions” appearing at the 7th Annual Bixby Knolls Dragster Expo and Car Show on Saturday, July 14 on Atlantic Avenue between Roosevelt Rd.
Sit in a helicopter, talk to pilots. Meet the Buffalo Soldiers and the Tuskegee Airman. Fly in Executive Sweet, a WW2 B-25 and let your kids fly with the Young Eagles. Watch skydivers fall from the sky… See hundreds of cars and military aircraft.

Councilmember Robert Garcia and the Museum of Latin American Art hosts “En La Noche” this Thursday night, September 15, from 6pm-9pm at MoLAA. The event is cosponsored by MOLAA, KCRW radio, and the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and is FREE and open to all Long Beach residents.
Shirley Muldowney, known as the First Lady of Drag Racing, will be the special guest at the Bixby Knolls Dragster Expo and Car Show on Saturday, July 9th.
Event promoter, deejay and Salon Pop co-owner Frankie Alvaro didn’t want to just donate money to help relief efforts in Japan in the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami, so he decided to take manners into his own hands and organize a benefit with a few of his friends, musical colleagues and vintage wheels enthusiasts.

Each year, the Bay City Rodders produce the Belmont Shore Car Show, one of Southern California’s top displays of classic cars.
This year’s show will take place on September 12, 2010 from 9 a.m. to noon. and the Rodder’s are now accepting applications from interested owners.
If you listen to the news it’s easy to start thinking that February 14 is all about flowers, hearts and romance. Not true! In fact, we found quite a few Long Beach events happening over Valentine’s weekend that have nothing at all to do with love and lace.
“Cupid, draw back your bow and let your arrow go…” or at least the Knolls Ranger will do so on February 5 at the Bixby Knolls First Fridays event. “Universal Love” will be the theme woven throughout the participating venues this month.
