Councilwoman Suzie Price is partnering with Justin Rudd’s Community Action Team to bring the 2nd Annual Touch-A-Truck to Long Beach on Sunday, May 1, 2016. Touch-A-Truck is a free, family event that offers children a hands-on opportunity to explore working trucks of all types and to meet the people who protect and serve the community.
Sat., Jan. 16, 2016: 200th consecutive month, 1 Granada Ave. Justin Rudd and his Community Action Team have been hosting the monthly cleanup since June 1999. Approx. 100 volunteers of all ages attend to help rid the sand of debris, so our beach remains clean and safe.
More than 500 kids are expected to participate in the 12th Annual Great American 4th of July Kids’ Bike Parade this weekend.
The parade is all about “Red, White and Youth” says organizer Justin Rudd. Each year kids and their parents take a Fourth of July ride decked-out patriotic-themed bikes, wearing red, white & blue outfits and waving flags, in hopes of taking home top-10 prize money of $10.
Justin Rudd’s nonprofit Community Action Team (CAT) is hosting their 11th-annual Operation Easter Basket. The goal is to collect and distribute 2,000 baskets this year to economically-disadvantaged boys and girls — ages birth to 16.
Fathers and Grandfathers have an opportunity to take their daughters or granddaughters out for dancing to party classics. There is no age requirement, so young and old are able to enjoy the evening. Girls may also be accompanied by their uncle, guardian or an adult relative.
