Long Beach concerts in the park
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Long Beach will offer hundreds of free or low cost cultural programs, sports activities and special events throughout the City. “100 Days of Summer” is a partnership between Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine and the Long Beach Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to promote opportunities to “stay and play” in Long Beach.
Free concerts in the Bixby Park Bandshell will showcase the greatest Jazz composers.
Friends of Bixby Park is pleased to announce that it will host Free Jazz in the Park concert series beginning Sunday, July 1 from 5p.m.
The Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) will host Out to Lunch, a free series of mini-concerts at Promenade Square Park, every Friday during the month of September. Residents, visitors and employees are invited to purchase ‘Lunch To-Go’ meals from Downtown restaurants while they listen to festive music from local bands.
Enjoy the uniquely American sounds of Bluegrass, American Folk Music and Rock & Roll at the inaugural Rose Park Bluegrass Festival at Rose Park on August 21, 2011.

100 Days of Summer kicks off on Friday, May 27, with a performance by DSB (Don’t Stop Believin’), the pre-eminent Journey Tribute Band, at Marina Vista Park, at Colorado Street and Santiago Avenue.
On Sunday October 24, 2010, Long Beach Opera in partnership with the Long Beach Museum of Art invites guests to spend the afternoon at a free picnic concert overlooking the ocean in celebration of the Long Beach GLOBAL initiative – October is Arts Month.
The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at California State University, Long Beach will host a Concert Under the Stars featuring members of the Japanese music groups Kokoro Taiko Kai and the Yoko Awaya Music Conservatory Friday, Sept.
