Wax down your surfboard and head to the Long Beach Arena on Saturday, October 18, for a Surfin’ Safari with the Long Beach Symphony POPS! conducted by Grammy-nominated David Benoit, who was commissioned by the Symphony to arrange a medley of surf classics that will be presented with the popular vocal ensemble Papa Doo Run Run.
Long Beach’s World-Famous Retro Row is giving one of its signature events a pet-friendly twist this month. On Saturday September 27, the street’s semi-annual Retro Ramble will become a “Sidewalk Sale with Wagging Tails,” welcoming animal friends of all kinds with special pet-themed vendors, services and events, including:
Fifth District Councilwoman Stacy Mungo and Councilman Patrick O’Donnell, will extend the concerts at El Dorado Park two additional weeks, in partnership with We Love Long Beach and sponsors AeroPlex, Laborers’ Local 1309, and MetroPorts.
The Aquarium of the Pacific’s Rooftop Veranda will serve as the setting for a Summer Concert Series. Wednesdays through September 10, the Aquarium in conjunction with Kirschner Creative Artists, will present a selection of musical acts to benefit the Aquarium’s educational programs and animal care.
Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine and the Long Beach Convention and Visitor’s Bureau are teaming up for the fifth year in a row to offer www.100daysofsummer.org, a searchable calendar of free concerts & movies, Long Beach Sea Festival events, El Dorado Nature Center & historic site events, and ideas for spontaneous fun like hiking, biking, golf, tennis, swimming, and youth and teen programs.

This Sunday, July 27th, Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site is hosting the second of 3 free Summer concerts in their beautiful backyard, this time featuring the dazzling musicianship and harmonies of the Silverado Bluegrass Band.
To keep the momentum going, half way through the summer on July 19, join us for a free screening of “42 – The True Story of an American Legend” (Pg 13) at Blair Field, 4700 Deukmejian Dr in Recreation Park.
Summer and Music (SAM) takes to the great outdoors with their third concert of the season – Bicycle Drive-In on Saturday, August 2 from 6-10 pm, situated on a vacant lot located on Pine Avenue between 6th & 7th Streets.
Co-produced by the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA), the event will include live performances by Sam Outlaw and Rosie Harlow and the Tall Tale Boys, plus a screening of Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom.
