The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has received a $1 million grant from Kaiser Permanente to enhance the HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Living) Zone Initiative, which supports healthier neighborhoods and healthier people in North Long Beach.
The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) has achieved national accreditation through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Only 118 health departments in the United States, including only three of the 61 health departments in California, have achieved this distinction.
