Long Beach donate blood
On January 13th, St. Anthony High School hosted its annual American Red Cross Blood Drive in the Jack Errion Gymnasium on campus. The Drive was organized by Mr. Joe Banfield, SAHS faculty member, who reported that student participation was up again this year with increased awareness of the need for blood donors.

FreeSpirit Yoga, is hosting their annual Blood Drive on Tuesday May 10, 2011. Only 38% of Americans are eligible to donate blood and of those only 8% do. That amounts to only about 3 out of every 100. Donating blood is a simple thing to do, but can make a big difference in the lives of others.
According the Red Cross, lifesaving blood is needed by someone in the community every 10 seconds. What if giving blood was something everyone did on a regular basis, like eating at a favorite restaurant. What kind of difference would this make?
Donate blood during the months of July and August in exchange for a free pint of ice cream. While supplies last, everyone who donates blood during the months of July and August will receive a coupon for a free pint of ice cream.
