Long Beach Earth Hour
The historic landmark will celebrate conservation with lights-out, eco-friendly entertainment and organic cocktails for hotel guests and the community
Along with millions of people around world, the Queen Mary will go dark on March 26 from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.
California is one of a record 25 states across the U.S. that will go dark for Earth Hour 2010. This Saturday, March 27, recognizable icons such as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Santa Monica Pier and Long Beach’s own Queen Mary will douse the lights for one hour to bring awareness to the threat of climate change.
On the evening of March 27, the Long Beach skyline will look drastically different as the city’s iconic landmark, the Queen Mary, shuts off her lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in collaboration with Earth Hour, an international event bringing awareness to climate change and energy conservation.
