The nomination period for the Downtown Long Beach’s East Village Association (EVA) Board of Directors closed on March 26, 2015. The list of nominees and their statements are now posted on the EVA website.
Downtown Long Beach’s East Village Association (EVA) is now accepting nominations for its Board of Directors. The nomination period is open from February 26 through March 26, 2015.
All Board of Directors positions are up for election.
After a frantic Black Friday, customers are encouraged to enjoy the artisans and entrepreneurs that call Downtown Long Beach home for Small Business Saturday. A joint venture of the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) and the East Village shops, the Downtown Long Beach Small Business Saturday celebration on November 29 will feature a Makers Mart, live music, shop discounts, a photo booth, free bike valet and more.
ArtExchange (ArtX) highlights the opening of its 3rd Annual Holiday Salon, along with special exhibitions from ArtX studio artists Kenny McBride and Leah C. Dixon at this Saturday’s East Village Art Walk from 6:00 PM to 9:00PM, November 8.

A gala reception Saturday, Oct. 4, will kick off a month-long art exhibition showcasing the Port of Long Beach in images captured by professional and amateur photographers.
The show, “Port of Long Beach PHOTOGALLERY,” will be held at the Liberty Gallery and Event Space, 6-10 p.m., at 435 Alamitos Ave., in conjunction with Long Beach Arts Month.
Summer and Music (SAM) takes to the great outdoors with their third concert of the season – Bicycle Drive-In on Saturday, August 2 from 6-10 pm, situated on a vacant lot located on Pine Avenue between 6th & 7th Streets.
Co-produced by the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA), the event will include live performances by Sam Outlaw and Rosie Harlow and the Tall Tale Boys, plus a screening of Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom.
Downtown Long Beach’s homegrown concert series Summer and Music (SAM), co-produced by the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA), marks the start of its sixth year with the expansion of series-favorite Dancin’ in the Streets on Saturday, June 28, 7-11 p.m.

Join Long Beach Heritage Saturday, June 14, 2014, for the East Village Walking tour. Tours of the historic district will be given the second Saturday of each month. The East Village is home to several of the earliest “own-your-own” residential high-rises catering to elegant resort living, built after World War I, and the discovery of oil in the region.
The City of Long Beach was recently ranked third in terms of having the most miles of bicycle infrastructure per square mile among the 52 largest cities in the United States, according to the Alliance for Biking and Walking. The City’s grant-funded investments in bicycling infrastructure have led to a doubling of bicycle riding since annual bike counts began in 2008.
