Long Beach exhibit
The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services, the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach, the National Minority AIDS Council, and the Southern California Men’s Medical Group will host the Gay Men’s Health Summit on Saturday, October 11, 2014 to address gay and bisexual men’s health issues, including a troubling and continuing rise in HIV and sexually transmitted infections.

A gala reception Saturday, Oct. 4, will kick off a month-long art exhibition showcasing the Port of Long Beach in images captured by professional and amateur photographers.
The show, “Port of Long Beach PHOTOGALLERY,” will be held at the Liberty Gallery and Event Space, 6-10 p.m., at 435 Alamitos Ave., in conjunction with Long Beach Arts Month.
The public is invited to WalkForth, an interactive event that will exhibit proposed improvement concepts that could be incorporated at Metro stations around the City. The demonstration will include mid-block crossings, curb extensions, landscaped medians, green alleys and more for community input on Friday, September 19, at 11:00 am, on Fourth Street between Long Beach Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue.
A Father’s Love, A Daughter’s Eye brings together Cisco and Milah, a seasoned graphic designer and an aspiring filmmaker, for a joint showing of their artistry in common: photography. The father and daughter photographers use film and digital cameras to compose portraits, urban and high desert landscapes.

The Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum (PIEAM) will hold the first North America exhibit opening of “Out of Taiwan: Shared Connections in the Pacific” photographs by internationally renowned photographer Danee Hazama of Tahiti on October 26, 2013.
