Work is entering the final phase on a project to alleviate congestion at the intersection of southbound Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) at Second Street. The project will add a second left turn lane and provide room for right turns onto Second Street without blocking through-traffic, and add sidewalk along PCH.
The public is welcomed to meet Senator Alan Lowenthal (D) and Councilmember Gary DeLong (R), the 47th Congressional District of California’s candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, at the Alamitos Beach Neighborhood Association’s monthly meeting.
The City of Long Beach re-opened Colorado Lagoon Thursday, after an $8.5 million restoration project that is restoring the Lagoon’s ecosystem, improving water quality and enhancing its recreation facilities.
“Generations of families and visitors have enjoyed the Colorado Lagoon, its natural wildlife, its calm and soothing environment, and its recreational swimming,” Mayor Bob Foster said.
A street rehabilitation project on Livingston Drive between Second Street and Termino Avenue will increase safety for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists, while retaining the number of parking spaces and maintaining traffic flow.

Today, Monday May 7th, at 6:30pm I will be hosting a “TeleTownhall” for residents of the new 47th Congressional District. The purpose of the Townhall is to give voters the opportunity to hear me publicly state my positions on the various issues facing our country.
Bayshore Avenue will be closed as part of a traffic program designed to keep drivers on Second Street while traveling through Belmont Shore.
