Southern California’s first gay-identified Toastmasters Club, Speak Out!, will kick-off its 10th anniversary on Saturday, June 15 at 7pm at The Long Beach Gay and Lesbian Center with a special anniversary meeting and club reunion.
Behavioral Health Services, Inc. (BHS) a local leader in substance abuse treatment programs, and the Gay and Lesbian Center of Long Beach (The Center) are pleased to announce a partnership that will provide substance abuse counseling and prevention case management services to 18 – 29 year old men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM) of color in the Greater Long Beach area.

In response to recent hate crimes targeting the LGBT community, The Gay and Lesbian Center of Greater Long Beach and Fitness Mecca will be hosting free self defense seminars on Saturday December 3rd and December 10th from 4:30pm-6:00pm at Fitness Mecca’s state of the art facilities located at 3289 Industry Drive in Signal Hill.
On December 17, 2010, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a vandalism call at the Gay and Lesbian Center in the 2000 block of 4th street. The preliminary investigation revealed that a male pulled up in front of the location, exited his vehicle, and threw a rock through the window then drove away.
