Long Beach Granada Beach
Rotaract Long Beach will be hosting a free, public sand sculpture building workshop for the public at Granada Beach in Belmont Shore on Saturday, July 19th from 10:00am-2:00 pm. The workshop will be part of the Love Long Beach Festival hosted by Alfredo’s Beach Shack.
The season is almost half over, but there are plenty of great shows still planned for Movies on the Beach. Next Tuesday join friends and fans at Granada Beach for a screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone hosted by Alfredo’s Beach House.

A multitude of teams are expected to bring out their inner child at the 79th annual “Great Sand Sculpture Contest” in Long Beach. On August 13th, Granada Beach in Belmont Shore will be hosting the 79th Great Sand Sculpture Contest.

The 77th Annual Great Sand Sculpture Contest – one of the oldest of its kind in the U.S. – will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 14-15, at Granada Beach near the launch ramp.
The contest features prizes in multiple categories, from kids under 12 to “masters,” as well as a corporate challenge that includes competition between local restaurants, city departments and other businesses.
The Boardwalk Properties 76th Annual Great Sand Sculpture Contest, the oldest event of its kind in the United States, will be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, August 15 at Granada Beach in Long Beach.
The Sand Sculpture Contest will feature awards in a variety of categories, including a new Corporate Challenge.
Around 1200 kids will celebrate a day at the beach by building sand sculptures and other summer fun and water activities on Friday, August 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the All City Sandcastle Beach Day.
Located at Long Beach’s Granada Beach and organized by the Long Beach Parks, Recreation Marine Department and supported by the Port of Long Beach, the event is being held in association with the “The Boardwalk Properties 76th Annual Great Sand Sculpture Contest” that is being held the next day at the same location on Saturday, August 15.
On Tuesday, July 7, Moonlight movies on the Beach returns for a 6th season as a featured event of Charter Communications Long Beach Sea Festival 2009.
The free series, presented by Alfredo’s Beach Club, starts at approximately 8 p.m.
