Long Beach Harvey Milk Promenade Park
The City of Long Beach, in collaboration with Work Evolution, will be hosting Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) at Harvey Milk Park and Equality Plaza (Harvey Milk Park) on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. The public is invited to come and enjoy opera, theater, and spoken word that celebrates and raises awareness on the current struggle and discrimination faced by transgender people.
The community is invited to attend a series of events designed to further activate Harvey Milk Park and Equality Plaza (Harvey Milk Park) throughout February and March. The series will include coffee gatherings, live music, educational sessions, and a re-creation of a Long Beach Debate Club called Spit ‘n’ Argue.
As a part of its broader economic development efforts, the City of Long Beach is transforming Harvey Milk Promenade Park and Equality Plaza (Harvey Milk Park) into an outdoor, public collaborative space that encourages creativity and interaction.
The public is invited to help the City of Long Beach unveil its Bike Share program, which will offer residents and visitors an exciting new way to move around the City. The unveiling will be held on Thursday, March 10, at 10:00 am on The Promenade at 3rd Street, across from Harvey Milk Park.
