Long Beach Fire Department CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and other city departments and disaster response agencies will host the first-ever “READY Long Beach” Community Preparedness Expo on October 4, 2014, to help residents prepare for incidents such as earthquakes, fires, floods, and act of terrorism.
Using its beautiful Sycamore trees and lush botanical surroundings as a backdrop, Heartwell Park will incorporate the feel of a Caribbean island getaway when Steel Drum Band, PanJive, performs on July 25th from 6 – 8 pm.
The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) is cautioning residents to avoid handling bats or other wildlife. Long Beach Bikeway Route 27 is an efficient route that takes cyclists from Heartwell Park to Atherton (Long Beach Bikeway Route 30) or unofficially to Bellflower Boulevard’s end at Loynes Drive (Bikeway Route 10).
For almost its entire length, Bikeway 27 is a spacious bike lane that is often wider than the car lanes — especially along the northern section.

With gorgeous weather most of the year, golfing never goes out of style in Long Beach. Golf Tournaments are a popular fundraiser among many local non-profits and the city is host to a number of annual tournaments and festivals from May through August.
