A joint venture of the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) and the East Village shops, the Downtown Long Beach Small Business Saturday celebration on November 29 will feature a Makers Mart, live music, shop discounts, a photo booth, free bike valet and more.

The Long Beach Symphony Association and Local Musicians Union 353 recently announced that they have successfully negotiated a new two-year contract agreement effective July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2016. The labor agreement, approved unanimously by the Association’s Board of Directors provides an increase in rate of pay for all 83 professional musician positions and a guaranteed 37 services per year, the same as in this current season.
Once a year, Long Beach Heritage invites the public to view some of the unique homes that make up the city’s rich architectural history. For the 2014 Great Homes Tour on Sunday, June 1 from 12-5 pm, six distinguished homes of distinctive architectural character will take the spotlight.
Long Beach City College (LBCC) will host a one-day Pick Your Career Pathway outreach event on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Liberal Arts Campus, Building T located at 4901 East Carson Street, Long Beach, as a way to familiarize incoming Fall 2014 students with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offered at LBCC.
