Long Beach Honoring Our Fallen
Founded by Laura Herzog in 2011, Honoring Our Fallen works daily along with like-minded nonprofit organizations, to serve families and children of our nation’s fallen heroes. HOF’s mission is unwavering: assist family members of fallen heroes during the initial shock of notification. HOF will work with appropriate government agencies and community members to provide comprehensive support for them. This assistance includes linking families with the resources they need to cope with life after loss.
Upon learning that the City Parks and Recreation Commission has approved allowing the non-profit group — Honoring Our Fallen — to utilize a portion of the memorial wall in the northwest section of the Long Beach Rosie the Riveter Park and Interpretive Center, the following statement was issued by Gerrie Schipske, President of the Long Beach Rosie the Riveter Foundation and Laura Herzog, Founder of Honoring Our Fallen:
Four mothers of soldiers who gave their lives, and the founder of Honoring Our Fallen, Laura Herzog, will accompany Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske in the 17th annual Veterans Day Parade on November 9th.
“I asked Honoring Our Fallen to invite Gold Star Mothers to ride in the Veterans Day Parade with me this year.
