Beauty and the Beast Jr. opens 4th season for GO-FAME youth theatre

Beauty and the Beast GO-FAME Youth Theatre Company kicks off its 4th season November 10-11, 2012 at the Millikan High School Auditorium with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr. Based on Disney’s Academy Award-winning animated film and Tony Award-winning stage musical, this 90-minute production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr.

Children’s theatre brings The Velveteen Rabbit to life

velveteen-rabbit Almost 90 students from Minnie Gant Elementary School, first through fifth graders, join forces to bring the classic children’s book, “The Velveteen Rabbit,” to life on the CSULB University Theatre stage. This production features a new adaptation for the stage by local children’s theatre director Bethany Price, with original music by Erik Przytulski and choreography by Lori Coulis.

Emphasis is on developing a child’s understanding and mastery of the art and craft of acting. Each series of kids acting classes includes vocal development, theater games, action verb acting and theater vocabulary along with additional overview on improvisation, scene study, monologue work, character analysis, and (in some classes) stage combat.

LB Shakespeare Summer Drama Camp
