The Queen Mary lights up Labor Day weekend with Shoreline Jam August 30 – 31, followed by the sixth annual Long Beach Funk Fest on September 1. Single day tickets for the two-day Shoreline Jam festival will go on-sale August 1 and single day tickets for Long Beach Funk Fest are currently on-sale now.
The Long Beach Police Department will be joining law enforcement agencies throughout California stepping up DUI enforcement at the end of the traditional summer season through Labor Day – August 16 through September 2.

E Hula Mau, the host to Southern California’s only Hula and Chant Competition, returns to the Terrace Theater on Labor Day Weekend for its annual celebration of the Hawaiian culture. Festivities start on Friday, August 30th and go through Sunday, September 1st, 2013, and include live performances, arts and crafts, workshops and the flavor of island foods.
City of Long Beach Health Officer, Dr. Mitchell Kushner, is urging residents to protect themselves from mosquitoes during the pending Labor Day weekend and during the ensuing weeks until temperatures begin to drop. While outside celebrating the unofficial end of the summer season with backyard barbecues and trips to campgrounds, parks and beaches, remember that the warmer weather creates an ideal environment for some uninvited guests – mosquitoes.

The 18th Annual E Hula Mau® returns to the Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center on August 31st – September 2nd, 2012. The celebration of Hawaiian culture, which also hosts Southern California’s only Hula and Chant Competition, is presented by Na Mamo®.
The Queen Mary is pleased to announce the second annual Shoreline Jam festival on Saturday, September 1, 2012. Top reggae, world, rock and pop artists including Ballyoo!, The Wailers, The Lions, Passafire, L.B.D.A. and Black Uhuru will perform on the beautiful grass shoreline in front of the historic ship to celebrate Labor Day weekend.
