With 24 years of history, Leadership Long Beach is a community leadership program designed to develop demonstrated community leaders by increasing their knowledge of the Long Beach community and creating networks of individuals who can help each other solve community challenges. Leadership Long Beach has over 1000 graduates from their programs and has contributed more than 100 community service projects to strengthen the Long Beach.
Join us in Long Beach on the MLK holiday on Monday, January 16 as Leadership Long Beach, the Port of Long Beach, the Office of Mayor Robert Garcia, the Office of Vice Mayor Rex Richardson and numerous community and city organizations collaborate to make the MLK, Jr.
Leadership Long Beach (LLB) will introduce its 28th Institute class (adult principled leadership training program) during its annual Community Welcome Reception on Monday, August 29 from 5:30-7:00p.m. at Rancho Los Alamitos, 6400 Bixby Hill Road, near CSULB at Atherton and Palo Verde.
Applications are now being accepted for the 28th Class of the Leadership Long Beach Institute program, which will begin in August 2016. The early application deadline for the Leadership Long Beach (LLB) Institute program is Tuesday, May 31st in order to receive a waiver of the $25 application fee.
All 19 candidates vying for election in the April 12 Long Beach primary have confirmed attendance at a March 2 Citywide Candidates’ Forum. Leadership Long Beach (LLB) is organizing the event in partnership with the Long Beach Public Library, Long Beach Community Action Partnership (LBCAP), Public Access Digital Network (PADNET) and PalacioMagazine.com.
On Saturday, May 30, 2015, Leadership Long Beach will present the second annual IDEA FEST LONG BEACH (IF LB). The festival is a free all-ages event with a focus on education and arts. IF LB will be held at Orizaba Park (1435 Orizaba Avenue) and surrounding businesses from 10:00 a.m.

On Saturday, June 7, 2014, 14 students from the 25th anniversary class of Leadership Long Beach will host Idea Fest: Long Beach (IF:LB), a community-based festival that will transform the Zaferia District into a fun classroom environment.

Leadership Long Beach will host an evening forum of the candidates seeking citywide offices on Friday, March 28 at the CSU Chancellor Office in the Dumke Auditorium. With commitments from all candidates for the offices of City Attorney, City Prosecutor, City Auditor and Mayor, this is the only citywide candidate forum for the 2014 elections.

District 9 City Council Candidate Rex Richardson received the endorsement of AFSCME Local 3634 Friday. The group represents 610 MTA first-line supervisors and also supervises bus and rail operators and mechanics.
