The Port of Long Beach is partnering once again with the Arts Council for Long Beach for Port of Long Beach Photo, a three-part photography learning experience for amateur and pro photographers alike. The free program will be held this summer and end in October in conjunction with Long Beach Arts Month, which is an annual celebration of local arts and culture.
Downtown Long Beach restaurants, bars and streets will be filled with music at Downtown Long Beach Associates’ (DLBA) new music series: Live After 5. A monthly event that will activate entertainment venues as well a non- traditional locations such as parks, vacant storefronts and street corners with live performers on the second Thursday of each month, Live After 5 will celebrate the local arts and music culture.

A gala reception Saturday, Oct. 4, will kick off a month-long art exhibition showcasing the Port of Long Beach in images captured by professional and amateur photographers.
The show, “Port of Long Beach PHOTOGALLERY,” will be held at the Liberty Gallery and Event Space, 6-10 p.m., at 435 Alamitos Ave., in conjunction with Long Beach Arts Month.

Long Beach area artists of all mediums and skill levels are invited to the new Bungalow Art Center, located in downtown Long Beach at 727 Pine Avenue, on October 27, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for valuable workshops on the critical business skills necessary for success in the arts.
