On Friday , City Manager Patrick West announced the appointment of Amy Bodek as Director of Development Services. Bodek’s new position will be effective the first week of September.
The Department of Development Services oversees the physical development and revitalization of the city through the planning process, the enforcement of building and environmental codes and through the Redevelopment Agency.
Long Beach launched a Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program this month. To start, the program will be available to applicants who install qualifying energy efficient products such as Energy Star rated solar hot water-heaters, tank-less water-heaters, windows, doors, skylights and roofs.
In 2004, the Redevelopment Agency facilitated the relocation of Parker Diving Service, Inc. to a site in the West Long Beach Industrial Project Area and since then, the company has enjoyed a continuous increase in business. They have grown so much in fact, that they now need more space for their operations.
