Tentative Agreement Reached With Police Officers Association

More Than 1,000 Kids to Receive Backpacks and School Supplies, Saturday

National Make A Difference Day Councilmember Al Austin and the Andy Street Community Association are joining together to help more than 1,000 kids get ready for the start of school. On Saturday, schoolchildren are scheduled to receive backpacks filled with school supplies, as well as free haircuts, health screenings and free food at the “Back to School Summer Blast.” During the event, there will also be an opportunity for community members to provide input on what they would like Phase II of Davenport Park to look like.
