Long Beach Mayan
Competing against more than 150 different proposals, California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) was one of just nine universities in the United States and Latin America selected to receive a $25,000 innovation grant for study abroad and exchange programs under President Obama’s 100,000 Strong in the Americas initiative.
Fuego guests can now tour Latin America without ever leaving Long Beach as Executive Chef Victor Juarez presents the new Latin Brunch Series – first stop Mexico on Sunday, Jan. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Latin America culinary tour continues to El Salvador on February 17, Costa Rica on March 24, Columbia on April 21, Guatemala on May 19, Argentina on June 23, Brazil on July 21, Cuba on August 18, Peru on September 22, Chile on October 20, Nicaragua on November 10, and Venezuela on December 15.
Despite all the sensationalization in the media, it’s unlikely the world is going to end on December 21st, 2012. Doomsday prophecies have come and gone, but rather than marking the end of the world, the conclusion of the Mayan long-count calendar actually designates a shift into a new era.
There’s no time like the present to get those Bucket List items checked off as Hotel Maya provides a variety of unique raffle items during its “End of the World” party in Fuego beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012.
