Long Beach Musical Theatre West
Musical Theatre West (MTW) is one of Southern California’s oldest and most respected theater production companies. The musical theater group performs at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach.
Due to popular demand, Musical Theatre West (MTW) has added an extra performance to it’s sold out run of the exhilarating musical masterpiece, Les Misérables. This added performance will be Sunday, April 26, 7pm at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center.

Musical Theatre West (MTW) brings Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific to the stage this month.
It’s delightful. It’s delicious. It’s de-lovely! International City Theatre opens its 29th season with the California premiere of Let’s Misbehave: The Music and Lyrics of Cole Porter, conceived by Karin Bowersock (book) and Patrick Young (musical arrangements) and directed and choreographed by Todd Nielsen.
Sunset Boulevard is the fourth and final production of Musical Theatre West’s record-breaking 60th Anniversary season.
MTW’s Sunset Boulevard will open exactly 20 years to the day of the show’s world premiere in London at the Adelphi Theatre where it ran for 1529 performances.

Musical Theatre West presents A Chorus Line, the show that is one singular sensation! The hopes, dreams and lives of a group of dancers at an audition for a Broadway show are exposed by the director in an effort to get to know the people “on the line.” Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Musical, this modern classic features the songs “Dance: Ten, Looks: Three,” “Nothing,” “What I Did For Love,” and “One.” A Chorus Line opens on Saturday, April 13 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center.

Single tickets go on sale August 22, 2012 for Musical Theatre West’s 2012-2013 season. For the very first time, MTW is proud to offer a “pick your own seats” option for those patrons who purchase tickets online.
Musical Theatre West’s annual fundraiser Broadway in the Park will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 in the Park Estates area of Long Beach, CA. MTW hopes to raise $150,000 to benefit programs including the Education and Outreach Programs, which reaches over 17,000 young people each year, introducing students to the magic and excitement of live theater through special daytime performances and visits to the classroom.
Musical Theatre West is proud to announce the opening of the regional premiere of Monty Python’s Spamalot. Monty Python’s Spamalot previews June 29, with opening night, June 30th and running for fourteen performances through July 15, 2012.
Musical Theatre West is offering students ages 8-18 a two week musical theatre conservatory taught by working theatre professionals in the month of July. Students will receive in-depth training in singing, dancing, and acting with an understanding and exposure to different genres of musical theatre and its history.
