Long Beach National Arts and Humanities Month
It’s been fun celebrating with our neighbors this summer on 4th Street and surrounds—from the 4th Street In Motion Bike Fest in May, to PARK(ing) Day this past September! We’ve a few more things up our proverbial sleeves for October: 4th Street Zombie Walk Presented by MondoCelluloid & 4th Street “Dia de Los Muertos“ Celebration!
Every October, the Arts Council for Long Beach produces GLOBAL, a month-long guide to arts and culture in Long Beach. GLOBAL occurs every October as part of National Arts and Humanities Month, a coast-to-coast collective celebration of culture in America.
GLOBAL is your Comprehensive Guide to National Arts and
Humanities Month in Long Beach
Grab your calendar and go to the Global website for over 1,000 arts experiences ranging from Free Museum days to the old-world traditional Italian Zoppe Family Circus; from the 2010 Chinese Film and Cultural Festival to the Long Beach Q Film Festival; from a live lecture by Leonard Nimoy to the LB Open Studio Tour.
If you’ve been meaning to buy a book, magazine or CD lately, or if you want to do some early holiday shopping, mark your calendar for October 17, 18 and 19.
In support of National Arts and Humanities Month and GLOBAL: Greater Long Beach Arts Lab, the Arts Council for Long Beach is partnering with Barnes & Noble Towne Center to raise funds for local arts and cultural non-profit organizations.
