Long Beach Nino’s Italian restaurant

The 4th Annual Bixby Knolls Tree & Menorah Lighting Ceremony will take place by the fountains at Nino’s Italian Restaurant, 3853 Atlantic Avenue, beginning at 6:00pm. The entire community is invited to come celebrate this tradition with the lighting of the tree and Hanukah Menorah, listen to carols, and enjoy some hot chocolate.

First Fridays celebrates its 5th anniversary with a rich pageant of art, music, shopping, and dining. Bixby Knolls will be one big celebration for the five-year milestone and ringing in the holiday season.
Ingredients for November include: Something Creative mobile art stations, jazz, bike portraits, glass blowers, belly dancers, henna, scavenger hunt, cake, photography, bikes, student musicians, DJs, jazz, swing, crooners & swooners, Timstrument, crafts, community drawing, face painting, First Books, piano man, Bixby Belle, and the Big Red Bus.

As part of GLOBAL (arts month) in Long Beach, and for some pre-Halloween flavor, First Fridays tonight, October 7 will “Raise the Spirits” for a jam-packed night in Bixby Knolls.

The heat of summer makes for Hot August Knights in Bixby Knolls. As summertime rolls so does the art, music, and energy along Atlantic Avenue. We expect another perfect night to stroll and experience the fun and unexpected.

We’re kicking off the holiday weekend on Friday, July 1 with a summertime portion of art, music, and Uncle Sam. Plenty of food options, great tunes, and artwork to begin your weekend of Independence Day celebrations. Each month there is a guaranteed generous portion of “the unexpected” to keep things interesting.

Calling all April Fools! First Fridays on April 1 promises even more of “the unexpected.” Catch the return of Beer & Politics featuring City Manager Pat West on the panel discussing “all things bikes.” B&P takes place at Nino’s Italian Restaurant, 3853 Atlantic, beginning at 6:30pm.

Bixby Knolls welcomes our beloved former mayor Beverly O’Neill & Harry Saltzgaver to the Historical Society of Long Beach who will be signing copies of their new book “Passionately Positive: The Beverly O’Neill Story.” As always, you are encouraged to visit all the venues, expect the unexpected, try something new, and even “dress to express.”

First Fridays kicks off the Independence Day holiday weekend with a blast of art, music, and community. Begin your holiday festivities with all the sights and sounds that First Fridays has to offer including an amazing display of fire-works..or actually, some fire dancing from Sirena Serpentina.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Bixby Knolls Supper Club at Johnny Rebs’ last month to dine with their friends and neighbors. It was another great turnout! The restaurant was thrilled with the response.
