The public will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions about the proposed California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) project to widen the I-405 from Costa Mesa to the Orange County/Los Angeles County border on Wednesday, July 24 at the Hill Classical Middle School in Long Beach.

Construction activity is ongoing along the northbound I-405 off-ramp and southbound I-405 on-ramp at Seal Beach Boulevard. This activity is in preparation for a traffic shift scheduled to take place on these ramps the week of June 17.

Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske and the Orange County Transportation Authority will host a public meeting to discuss the West County Connectors Project and the impacts to the Long Beach area.
Beginning in early 2010 the Orange County Transportation Authority will begin construction on the West County Connectors Project, which will connect carpool lanes on the San Diego Freeway (I-405), San Gabriel Freeway (I-605) and the Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22).
