The perfect Fourth of July event involves spectacular fireworks and patriotic music. It has been a tradition all across our country for decades. This year, Long Beach residents will be able to bring their families to enjoy a special evening with the Long Beach Municipal Band performing with the dramatic backdrop of fireworks at Veterans Stadium at Clark and Conant, announced Fifth District Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske today.
The Long Beach Municipal Band will celebrate its 105th season in summer 2014. The success of this beloved Long Beach institution in recent years has reflected the support of the community and the efforts of the non-profit Partners of Parks, an organization that has supported public parks, recreation and marine programs and facilities in the City of Long Beach for over 27 years.
The second annual Long Beach Futsal District Cup Tournament begins at 10 a.m. following the opening ceremony for the new courts.

Santa Claus is coming to Stearns Champions Park! 4th District Councilman Patrick O’Donnell, Partners of Parks and the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine invite the community to enjoy a visit with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 17, from 8 to 11 a.m.
Entrance to the Homeland Cultural Center DanceFest are free, but tickets must be obtained in advance.
The third annual Homeland Cultural Center “Dance Fest” will take place on Sunday, July 10 at 4 p.m. at the Center Theater in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.

This weekend, rare and unusual California and Southwest native plants will be available for sale from the El Dorado Nature Center. The Native Plant Sale begins on Saturday, November 13, at 9:00 a.m.
Partners of Parks has set Saturday, January 9, for its very first park Clean Team Day at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. This kick-off event is one of many that Partners of Parks will schedule throughout Long Beach in 2010.
