The Port of Long Beach is partnering once again with the Arts Council for Long Beach for Port of Long Beach Photo, a three-part photography learning experience for amateur and pro photographers alike. The free program will be held this summer and end in October in conjunction with Long Beach Arts Month, which is an annual celebration of local arts and culture.
The first-place winner was Cherene Birkholz for her photo Oriental Queen.

A Father’s Love, A Daughter’s Eye brings together Cisco and Milah, a seasoned graphic designer and an aspiring filmmaker, for a joint showing of their artistry in common: photography. The father and daughter photographers use film and digital cameras to compose portraits, urban and high desert landscapes.
The Arts Council for Long Beach announced today that they have selected five local artists to receive a 2013-14 Long Beach Professional Artist Fellowship. These five artists were selected following the ACLB’s independent review of annual grant applications for an artist fellowship.
