Historic Pine Avenue Sign to be Unveiled Today

ribbon-cutting The public is invited to the unveiling of a new “Historic Pine Avenue” sign that spans Pine Avenue between 4th Street and 5th Street, today, Friday, March 24, at 7:00 pm. The free ceremony will feature the two-story-high sign being illuminated.

Celebrate Day of the Dead Downtown

sam-bicycle-drive-in Summer and Music (SAM) takes to the great outdoors with their third concert of the season – Bicycle Drive-In on Saturday, August 2 from 6-10 pm, situated on a vacant lot located on Pine Avenue between 6th & 7th Streets. Co-produced by the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA), the event will include live performances by Sam Outlaw and Rosie Harlow and the Tall Tale Boys, plus a screening of Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom.

DLBA Hosts World Cup Viewing Party on Pine Avenue Today

soccer Futbol fans will fill the streets of Downtown Long Beach today, Tuesday, July 1 to cheer for our home team in the World Cup. Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA)  will host the first World Cup on Pine Avenue watch party on Pine Avenue between Broadway and 3rd Street from 9 a.m.

The event will feature sample sized portions of signature dishes from more than 25 Downtown restaurants, along with beer, wine and live music performed by Moonsville Collective.

Long Beach Transit Announces Service Changes

lb-transit-bus Starting Sunday, June 1, Long Beach Transit service changes will commence. In addition to usual adjustments, the Passport route will be on a long-term detour as the City of Long Beach works on the Pine Avenue Improvement project which is scheduled in segments through April 2015.

Parents Arrested For 2013 Murder of Infant

Long Beach Crime On May 30, 2013, Long Beach police officers responded to the 200 block of South Pine Avenue in regards to a 1-month-old infant that was not breathing. The infant was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office investigated the case as a suspicious death.
