Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal invites residents to join the Department of Parks, Recreation & Marine, the Promenade Area Residents Association and Council District 2 for a playground planning workshop to discuss the location, size and elements of a small children’s playground space in Promenade Square Park in Downtown Long Beach.
Councilmember Suja Lowenthal announced an opportunity for Downtown residents and other interested parties to take an online survey asking whether a small children’s playground should be built in Promenade Square Park, located between 1st Street and Broadway.
To help promote public safety and community engagement, Downtown Long Beach Associates’ (DLBA) President and CEO Kraig Kojian announced Friday, the implementation of a Community Watch Group (CWG) Starter Kit, which is designed to prevent crime through community awareness and open communication between residents, businesses and the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
The DRC is comprised of 6 neighborhood associations: West End Community Association, Willmore City Heritage Association, North Pine Neighborhood Alliance, East Village Association, Promenade Area Residents Association, Ocean Residents Community Association.
