Long Beach City Councilmember Roberto Uranga invites the residents of Long Beach and the greater Los Angeles & Orange County areas to celebrate the Holiday Season with a parade that is so unique that it can only be a Long Beach tradition!

After passing a historic city-wide project labor agreement in April of this year, Long Beach will continue to support its residents as the City Council voted on Tuesday night’s meeting to implement a First Source Agreement (FSA) Pilot Program, called Long Beach First.

The City of Long Beach on Saturday celebrated the graduation of the Neighborhood Leadership Program class of 2015, a group of 32 grassroots residents who have been empowered to become better leaders and foster positive change throughout Long Beach neighborhoods.

Councilmember Roberto Uranga has teamed up with world-renown lecturer Gregorio Luke and Mariachi Imperial to present the popular Mariachi Under the Stars multimedia lecture in Long Beach this Saturday, July 18th.

On Saturday, June 6, 2015, Atlantic Avenue will be transformed for an Open Street event called “Beach Streets Uptown.” The event will open up Atlantic Avenue for walking, bicycling, and socializing, by temporarily closing the street to vehicle traffic from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The State Senate Rules Committee announced the appointment of Long Beach City Councilmember Roberto Uranga to the California Coastal Commission, as a voting member. With this appointment, the City of Long Beach continues to establish its role as an influential hub of progress across the Greater Los Angeles Region and the State of California.

The West Long Beach community is mourning the loss of Keshawn Brooks, a 15-year-old student at Cabrillo High School, who was victim of a fatal stabbing on the afternoon of March 12, 2015.

The public is invited to attend a Local Action Summit to discuss ideas for achieving positive life outcomes for youth, as part of the “My Brother’s Keeper” (MBK) Community Challenge. The event will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 6:00 pm at Ernest McBride Park, 1550 Martin Luther King, Jr.
