Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Human Trafficking of 14-year-old

Crime Jail The last of three defendants involved in the human trafficking of a 14-year-old teen was convicted last week on various charges. On January 13, 2014 Larry McDowell Jr. (a 40-year-old resident of Long Beach) pled guilty and was sentenced to 5 years in state prison.

Uptown Dog Park opens in 8th District

Wrigley Heights Dog Park Yet another Long Beach dog park will open this weekend. The Uptown Dog Park will provide separate areas for small and large dogs to play off leash in Scherer Park. Councilwoman Rae Gabelich and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine invite the public to attend the opening of the Uptown Dog Park on Saturday, November 21 at 10:00 a.m.
