Cancer not only affects the body, it affects the mind and spirit. Over the past 14 years, Team Spirit Long Beach has raised more than $2.2 million for cancer support programs at the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Memorial.
The Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) is continuing its 2014 Taste of Downtown series on June 4 & 5 from 6-10 p.m. on Pine Avenue between 1st and 3rd Streets. The event will feature sample sized portions of signature dishes from more than 25 Downtown restaurants, along with beer, wine and live music performed by Moonsville Collective.

For many families the holiday season truly is “the most wonderful time of the year.” School is out, parents take time off of work and families gather to celebrate special traditions.
On Dec. 1, the Long Beach community and visitors are invited to celebrate the holidays at the Queen Mary’s annual tree-lighting party. Now in its 17th year, the family-friendly event begins at 4 p.m. with guests gathering at 7 p.m.
