Long Beach street projects
The City has begun work to improve Shoreline Drive from Ocean Boulevard to Linden Avenue, which will improve traffic circulation and help facilitate ADA access to the beach.
Roadwork projects will detour through traffic on Harbor Avenue in West Long Beach south of West Anaheim Street starting early Wednesday, January 15 and continuing through 6 a.m. January 20.
A repaving project is set for Harbor between 12th Street and Anaheim Jan.
This section of Barbanel Street was severely degraded with lifted gutters that cause standing water issues after rain and neighborhood watering.
During the summer of 2012, Fifth District residents were invited to help identify areas most in need of infrastructure repair through a series of meetings and an online survey ranking system introduced by Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske.
An approximately 1-mile section of 7th Street, between Alamitos Avenue and Junipero Avenue, will be improved with new asphalt pavement, paver crosswalks and the extension of a traffic signal interconnect system to better manage traffic flow.
