Long Beach walking club
This Saturday, January 16, marks the second anniversary of the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association’s walking club known as the Bixby Knolls Strollers. After two years it proves that lots of little steps lead to a long, fun journey.
Walking is beneficial to your health, controlling your weight and improving your overall well-being. In partnership with the City of Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department), Starr King Elementary School Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) parent group will kick-off its Walking Club on Friday, October 16, 2009.
It’s amazing what we can see when we get out of the car and take a stroll down the street. Whether the pace is leisurely or brisk, the landscape changes when viewed at street level.
Local Walking Clubs are furthering this trend.
If 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning is too early for you, then there is no excuse for you not to join the Bixby Knolls Strollers for the 2nd Annual Summer Solstice Stroll on Saturday, June 20.
Walkers will meet at Rancho Los Cerritos at 6 p.m.
