The Willmore City Heritage Association (WCHA) works to improve, preserve and promote the physical environment and the quality of life in the Willmore City Drake Parke neighborhood, Long Beach’s first designated historic district.
Councilmember will highlight City’s progress and plans, report on his trip to cycling conference in Spain
Councilmember Robert Garcia, along with City mobility staff, will host a Cycling Plan Community Meeting this coming Monday, May 2, at 6pm in the Jenny Oropeza Community Center at Cesar Chavez Park, 401 Golden Avenue in Long Beach.
Despite a dismal economy and drastic budget cuts, the City of Long Beach was able to complete several significant environmental initiatives, neighborhood improvement projects and infrastructure improvements, as well as earn several prestigious awards in 2010.
The Willmore City Heritage Association (WCHA) won first place in Neighborhoods, USA’s Neighborhood of the Year Award 2010 national competition in the category of Physical Revitalization – Single Neighborhood.
