The YMCA of Greater Long Beach will host the nation’s top YMCA student gymnast’s next June 29-July 3 for the 2016 YMCA National Gymnastics Championship in Long Beach, California. YMCA of the USA selected Long Beach in part due to the tremendous community support evidenced during the site visit, the quality of the venue sites for competition, the expertise and energy demonstrated by the YMCA of Greater Long Beach Gymnastics Program and its community history of providing quality sporting experiences to participants in past hosting opportunities.

On Friday, April 3rd the YMCA of Greater Long Beach will host the 47th annual Good Friday Breakfast at the Long Beach Convention Center’s Grand Ballroom from 7:15-9:00am.

After a nationwide search, Emilio Sosa has been selected as the Senior Executive Director of the Weingart-Lakewood Family YMCA. Emilio has had a successful career leading the Early Childhood Education (ECE) department of the YMCA of Greater Long Beach and will bring excellence in program operations, staff development, community involvement, and fundraising experience to the Lakewood community.
The tenth annual STEM Conference for girls will take place on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Long Beach City College Liberal Arts Campus. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The invitation-only conference is organized and sponsored by the American Association of University Women Long Beach Branch.
Two Library officials traveled to Cambodia on Saturday, October 19, 2012 to purchase Khmer books and materials for the Mark Twain Neighborhood Library Khmer collection, which is located in the heart of Cambodia Town.
“These books are not available online or through traditional sources like a local bookstore,” Mayor Bob Foster said.

To thousands of underprivileged youngsters in Long Beach and L.A. County, King Taco is much more than just the “Official Mexican Restaurant” of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
For five years, King Taco has been purchasing Sunday race grandstand tickets and distributing them to youngsters from the Long Beach Boys and Girls Clubs, along with 28 other Boys and Girls Clubs in greater Los Angeles, and YMCA and church groups.
