Youth U8-13 invited to Club Soccer tryouts for 2010 Spring season

youth-soccer FC Long Beach will hold Club Soccer Tryouts on Friday, January 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bancroft Middle School, 5301 East Centralia Street. Long Beach Youth Soccer Organization (LBYSO) offers recreation, intermediate and advanced levels of soccer.

FC Long Beach: Winter Soccer Academy starts January 8

soccer-academy-fclb FC Long Beach Academy will provide USSF Nationally-licensed club trainers to work with youth players once a week for a 10-week period beginning January 8 in Heartwell Park Field #1, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The academy is for boys and girls ages 5-12.

Shore Aquatics closes a winning season by giving back to LB community

shore-aquatics-water-polo The 14-and-under water polo team for Long Beach Shore Aquatics finished a winning water polo season this holiday and celebrated by giving back to the community with volunteer work and a toy drive. The team has been together for about five years, starting with the legendary Wilson High School Coach Klaus Barth, who passed away from cancer in 2006.

Register by August 3 for Land Meets Sea Sports Camp

land-meets-sea-camp More than 350 people, including many with varying disabilities, will enjoy four days of beach and water fun August 3-7 at the 15th Annual Land Meets Sea Sports Camp. The summer day camp is a unique event for persons with disabilities ages 4 and older incorporating water, land, recreation and competitive sports.

Basketball & Books Day Camp coming to St. Anthony High School in August

basketball court NBA basketball veteran Darrick Martin will host a free Basketball and Books Day Camp for boys and girls ages seven to 17, August 3 – 7 at St. Anthony High School in downtown Long Beach. Day Camp is offered from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
