U.S. airship industry pioneers Airship Ventures announced today Andrea Deyling joins the company’s passenger airship pilot roster, becoming America’s first female Zeppelin pilot.

On Monday, May 24, 2010, Airship Ventures, owners and operators of The Farmers Airship, the Zeppelin Eureka, announced that on Tuesday May 25, 2010, the world’s largest airship will attempt to break the world distance record for a modern airship.
For second time this year, The Farmers Insurance Group has selected Airship Ventures as a marketing partner, re-branding the hull of the Zeppelin Eureka with the Farmers logo.
“From the start, Farmers has understood Eureka’s diverse capabilities means they can design unmatched integrated marketing efforts in support of the Farmers brand and its causes,” commented Airship Ventures President Brian Hall.
That’s not a shadow looming over Long Beach today, it’s a sign of fun to come. Airship Ventures, the Zeppelin tour company, is bring the Eureka back to Southern California today, January 7.
The ship’s last few visits were sell-out events, so Airship Ventures plans to fly the Zeppelin to Long Beach monthly through June 2010 to give adventurous guests a birds-eye view of the California coast.
Local rock music will be well-represented at the Downtown Long Beach Associates’ (DLBA) first New Year’s Eve Celebration in the East Village Arts District on December 31. Long Beach locals Avi Buffalo and Rival Sons along with Dusty Rhodes and The River Band will perform live for a full night of free music and entertainment beginning at 8:00 p.m.
