“The sweetest thing in the world—it’s revenge” solider Paul Lazzaro in Slaughterhouse-Five.

LBO Cinema takes opera beyond convention and perception, into uncharted territory.  On Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. the group will present Slaughterhouse-Five at The Art Theatre.

Billy Pligrim shuffles between multiple lives — past, present, and future — in Kurt Vonnegut’s most infamous anti-war novel and this cinematic cult-classic. Vonnegut injects Igor Stravinsky’s “A Soldier’s Tale” with both relevance and controversy. See what made him one of America’s most incendiary artists in the first place.

Doors open and champagne bottles pop at 10:30 a.m. The movie starts at 11 a.m. Tickets are $11 at the door. Coffee and mimosas are provided. Free and metered parking is available around the Art Theatre.

The Art Theatre is located at 2025 E. 4th Street, Long Beach 90814.
