The Long Beach Central Project Area Council, Inc. (LB CPAC) will hold its regular, monthly meeting at 6pm on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at I LOVE VEGAN at 2264 Pacific Ave., Long Beach, 90806.  I LOVE VEGAN is a vegan / Thai restaurant in Wrigley Village.  Arrive early – they open for dinner at 5pm – and enjoy the food that has become the talk of the Wrigley neighborhood.

LB CPAC is very pleased to have Long Beach Police Chief, Robert Luna and West Division Commander, Robert Smith as the evening’s speakers.  They will be discussing crime in Long Beach and the police department’s plans to address issues of concern to the community.

This is a great opportunity to keep abreast of projects and programs happening in the LB CPAC area.  Dialogue involving the community and the speakers is encouraged and expected.

Everyone in Long Beach is invited to attend.  LB CPAC looks forward to seeing a large turnout.  In addition to the main topics, there will be opportunities for members of the community to briefly address the group about other concerns and issues.

Important Note re upcoming Medical Marijuana Ordinance
At a recent Planning Commission meeting, City staff announced the new Medical Marijuana ordinance will be the subject of a special study session by the City Council on Tuesday, February 10 at 4pm.  LB CPAC has been closely involved in the drafting of that ordinance to ensure provisions for protecting our neighborhoods are included.  Everyone is encouraged to watch for that agenda item on Legistar and to be at that study session to express their views.

The Long Beach Central Project Area Council, Inc. (LB CPAC) replaces the Central Project Area Committee for Redevelopment which ceased to exist when the Redevelopment Agencies were eliminated by Governor Brown in 2012.

All are welcome to attend the meetings and the group is actively recruiting new members.  There are individual, business and community group categories of membership.
