LBPD Explorer Post 295 Gets High Marks in Kern County Memorial Competition

award-medalsOn May 15-17, 2009 the Long Beach Police Department Explorer Post 295 participated in the 1st Annual Kern County Memorial Explorer Competition in the mountains of Tehachapi, California.

The competition included 25 teams from throughout California and Arizona.  The Long Beach Police Department Explorers competed in 13 tactical and patrol response scenarios. 

The Explorer’s competition helps develop the Explorers by promoting teamwork, leadership, officer safety, responsibility, and self-motivation.

1st Place:          Tactical Relay                     3rd Place:          Bomb Threat

1st Place:          Shooting Range                 3rd Place:          Tug-O-War

1st Place:          Search and Rescue           3rd Place:          Relay Race 

3rd Overall Best Explorer Post
